After graduation from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2005, Özgür received his masters degree in Mathematics from Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUKL) in Germany. He studied the expected lifetime of heavy construction vehicles parts during his master degree. He had a short term startup experience before participating in Turkey's first and most successful technology park ODTÜ TEKNOKENT in 2009. Özgür had a key role during the foundation of Defense and ICT Clusters. Özgür and his teams’ main objective was to bring various scales of companies and academicians together, and create a sustainable ecosystem where they can realize innovative R&D projects and achieve international recognition. In 2018 Özgür moved to a new journey with VLMedia as Vice President. VLMedia is a mobile technology company with 6 fabulous mobile applications and mobile games who has more than 150 million user base.

Özgür has also been Vice President of the Game Developers Association of Turkey (TOGED) since 2017. TOGED has the aims of realizing any kinds of practices and regulations related with game development in Turkey to contribute to the national development and helping the game ecosystem in the country to develop and to reach the levels it deserves.
